GCA Connects
Developmental Services Ontario (DSO) and Passport Funding
Join our GCA Social Workers for a guided conversation with guest speakers from Developmental Services Ontario (DSO) and the Passport Funding Program. Together, we’ll walk through the process, explain what to expect, and answer common questions families often have during this stage of transition.
During this session, you’ll get a clear overview of how the adult developmental service system works in Ontario and how families can begin navigating it with confidence.
Our speakers will cover how to access services through DSO, what eligibility looks like, how waitlists work, and what supports may become available once someone is connected to the system. You’ll also learn what qualifies as an eligible expense under Passport Funding for the April 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027 funding year, and how families typically use this funding to support independence, participation, and daily life.
We’ll also explore alternative options and community resources available for individuals who may not qualify for DSO or Passport funding, so families leave with a clearer picture of the supports that may still be available.
Throughout the session, families will have the opportunity to ask questions, hear from professionals working within the system, and begin building a plan for the transition to adult services.
