First-Then Boards

"First-Then" strategies are visual supports that can be used in the home or classroom to support individuals with ASD. This approach involves presenting a clear sequence of tasks or activities to help someone understand what is expected of them. The
"First" component indicates the initial task that must be completed, while the "Then" component outlines the subsequent activity or reward that follows once the first task is accomplished. For example, a visual chart might state, "First: Get Dressed", "Then: Free Time".
