Token Boards

Token boards are visual and tangible systems used to reinforce positive behaviours by awarding tokens for specific actions. Each time a desired behaviour is done, the person earns a token, which can be accumulated on the board. Once a predetermined number of tokens is collected, they can be exchanged for a preferred reward or privilege. This system is particularly beneficial for autistic people as it provides clear reinforcement, making the connection between behaviour and consequence more understandable.

The Boards:

A board or chart where tokens (which can be physical items like coins, stars, or stickers) are earned for demonstrating desired behaviours or completing tasks. The accumulation of these tokens can lead to rewards or privileges.
