Honoring Feda Almaliti and Creating Lifesaving Autism Resources


On September 26, 2020, the autism and ABA community lost two incredible voices—Feda Almaliti and her autistic son Muhammed “Mu” Almaliti, in a tragic house fire. Feda, known for her relentless advocacy, returned into their burning home when Mu didn’t exit, choosing to stay by his side. Her sacrifice and legacy sparked a powerful initiative: The September 26th Project.
This session shares Feda's story, her advocacy work, and the practical tools that emerged from this tragedy. It also urges caregivers to rethink what safety really means for autistic individuals and their families.
